Dong and colleagues present a retrospective study evaluating risk factors associated with tumor recurrence for patients with non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.  This study includes over 800 patients from the US Neuroendocrine Study Group.   The results of their study indicate that the overall tumor volume as determined by number and size of tumors predicts recurrence.  Read more in the most recent August 2020 edition of HPB.

The vertical axis represents all possible “high” populations with the size of the high population increasing from top to bottom. Similarly, the horizontal axis represents all possible “low” population with the size of the low population increasing from left to right. b, The number of patients in each group for a given set of divisions (from Dong et. al.  HPB, 2020-08-01, Volume 22, Issue 8, Pages 1149-1157)
